• a shop for your goods & services – Regather Co-Operative is an excellent way for you to source local skilled traders offering many different types of goods and service. You can enquire about or purchase a growing number of these over the counter at our local shop, on line via website or over the phone.

• a home for your projects – We are an active network of skilled individuals capable of delivering sustainable and interesting local projects that draw upon the shared resources and skills of the co-operative. Our projects often provide new work opportunities, chances for people to learn new skills and must always be of benefit to the wider community. New traders all have the chance to initiate their own projects through Regather so if you have an please idea get in touch!

How Do We Work?

• Local sole traders and small businesses are able to purchase trading accounts from Regather. Your trading account enables you to trade your goods and services at Regather in a variety of different ways, communicate easily with other co-operative traders and access collectively owned resources in order to make your own projects happen. After three months of trading all traders are able to become a full co-operative members with a shareholding in the business and an equal say in its management. • Regather is owned and managed by its own members and traders. As a co-operative body Regather can own assets, receive investment and be responsible for delivering any number of services. We believe this is the ideal way for large numbers of traders to equitably pool their resources and achieve mutually beneficial results.

• All our traders earn a living by using Regather’s website and shop to sell their own goods and services to the public and are also given the opportunity to work at larger projects undertaken by Regather itself. A regular contribution from each trader’s income then ensures Regather can continue to generate opportunities for all its traders.

• Regather itself is a not-for-profit organisation and the income generated by our traders is used to pay for mutually beneficial resources like this website, our city centre offices and our van. The advantages of working co-operatively means our traders share the costs of the essential tools that businesses need, spread the risks of entrepreneurial business and keep the wealth generated by successful trading within the local community.

• Because we’re a co-operative all our self-employed traders, volunteers and employees can become members and democratically control how the business is run with a ‘one member, one vote’ system. Our shop, office and meeting space is currently voluntarily staffed and is open Monday to Friday from 10am – 4pm, and Saturdays from 10am – 1pm.
