Regather Home Satisfies Another Local Customer
2 weeks 1 day ago

Without a doubt when it comes to home maintenance there is always a need for friendly, efficient and reliable tradesmen to complete the job.

Regather Home caters to that need with a hassle free service that promises to deliver excellent standards to its customers.

The service caters for a wide array of needs such as plumbing, bathroom, tiling, flooring and roofing.

Sally Pursall, of S8, who recently had a new bathroom fitted and alterations to her kitchen, said: “The quality of the work was very good and there was great attention to detail. The time he took was very reasonable and he provided a good rate.

“I would certainly use it again and it was a great return on my money.”

Home was started in October and is currently run solely by John Lewis, who has a staggering 30 years experience in home maintenance, which ensures he is well equipped to deal with your requirements.

John said: “Expect impressive service, great prices and an excellent job from Regather Home.

“I think people in general are always looking for tradesmen to do a job for them and more and more are expecting them to do jobs at a reliable price – and that is what I aim to give.”

Home now has a regular advertising slot in Sheffield’s Now Then magazine and this is something John says will only help attract more custom over the coming year.

“I think that over the next year it can easily grow and grow on its own just by word of mouth. Over time the more and more people who become aware of it the more we will be able to expand.

“I believe that soon there will be much more work than I alone can cope with.

One new customer was that delighted with the work done on her kitchen she has decided to reinvest in the service again.

Helen Tranter, of Millhouses, said: “It is a totally different kitchen. He did a fantastic job and it is really great.

“It used to be awful and like the worst kitchen in the world but then John came in and transformed it. The quality of work was very good.

“That is why I am happy for him to do the bathroom next because he is reliable and I find the service very suitable for me.”

2012 - International Year of the Co-Operatives
10 weeks 1 hour ago

The International Year of Co-operatives, or IYC, celebrates a different way of doing business, one focused on human need not human greed, where the members (who own and govern the business) collectively enjoy the benefits instead of all profits going just to shareholders.

Having an International Year of Co-operatives provides an opportunity to captivate the attention of national governments, the business community and, most importantly, the general public on the advantages provided by the co-operative model.

Regather Make workshop boosted by university ceramics kiln
11 weeks 6 days ago

The forthcoming Regather Make tools workshop has received generous donation of a ceramics pottery kiln from the University of Sheffield Archaeology Department.

The device, which is traditionally used by potters to harden clay after they have made an item such as a bowl, will be installed at Club Garden Road in the coming weeks – ready for its opening in around two months.

Trader, Barney Harris, said: “A variety of different types of trading activity will, at some point or other, often find the need for a practical, well kitted out space to build something physical.

“The workshop creates the opportunity for a trader to regularly use it to produce a saleable product or even as a maintenance/repair workshop.“

The donation adds to a grant received for the project of £1440 from Sheffield City Council, Central Community Assembly.

Funds from this have gone towards buying items such as power tools and materials and renovating a workbench left from the buildings previous tenant.

In future tutor led sessions and workshop projects will be held at Regather Make and the Co-operative has made a budget of £1000 available for this.
